Obtained by combining water and unslaked lime, slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) is a versatile and efficient product that is available in both fluid and powder form. The process of creating slaked lime is known as "slaking."

Areas of Application: The lime product can be employed in the construction industry, while the slaked variant is ideal for soil stabilization, mining, and copper, lead, and iron extraction. It is also widely utilized in the paper industry, as well as in alcohol and chemical production. Calcium hypochlorite and slaked lime can be produced through the reaction of chlorine gas. Lime can also be used for refining citric acid and in the production of various chemicals that result from lime's reaction with organic or inorganic acids. Additionally, lime is used as a neutralizer in the production of chrome chemicals, in the production of ethylene or propylene glycolyne, and in glucose and dextrin concentration. Stack Gas Refining: Slaked Lime plays a crucial role in removing sulphur oxides (SO2, 2O3) from stack gas through both wet and dry desulphurization methods. It is also used to clean hydrochloric acid formed by the combustion of domestic waste and to reduce some heavy metals present in stack gas with activated carbons.

Potable Water Treatment: Slaked Lime finds several applications in the treatment of potable water. It can be used to fulfill carbonate hardness, neutralize acidic water, and precipitate solid particles in water using aluminium and iron salt. Additionally, it can remove bacteria and some viruses from water by increasing the pH level of the water. Slaked Lime can also be employed in the lime/soda process to fulfill hardness other than carbonate hardness.

Waste Water Treatment: Slaked Lime plays a significant role in treating wastewater. It can be used to purify domestic wastewater and precipitate solid particles in water with aluminium and iron salt. It can also fulfill phosphorus and nitrogen requirements, neutralize acidic water in the industry, precipitate metal ions such as iron and chrome, and refine process water in beet sugar factories.
